Executive functioning issues refer to weaknesses in attention, memory, organization and time management, and flexible thinking. With coaching, your child will improve in their ability to plan, organize, shift, prioritize, and check their work. The three key skills we develop are:
- Working Memory: develop checklists, follow steps, picture things mentally, create an inner monologue, organize work on a tablet/paper
- Flexible Thinking: take things apart in your mind and recombine them, see how two math ideas are related, transfer your learning to a task, develop math conjectures
- Self-Control: use the correct language to express oneself, motivate oneself to complete a task, and increase self-awareness
